July, 1992

Today I felt happiest I ever remember feeling.

I got married.

Not legally of course, our official names have been erased. But Jeremiah was a chaplain before he was recruited by Gallant so he led a little ceremony. We made an aisle in the living area of the penthouse. Dalia walked me and Jacques walked Hannah. We were given away to each other. She was a vision of dark curls and white lace walking down our make-shift aisle.

My deadly Rose.

I'd seen her before. I'd kissed her before. But our connection had never made me light up before.

When she kissed me, my whole body lit up with the neon fire of my balance. I found more control in it than I ever had before.

It didn't hurt her.

It didn't burn my dress.

It just filled the entire room with a loving warmth. I always thought it was a destructive force. I guess there's more to it. Jeremiah said he was sad he had never done an Evo wedding before because the whole room felt the warmth of my harmony. It wasn't just warm, it was right. It was pure.

It was… it was right.

We celebrated. We got tipsy and danced together. Only smiles. Only joy. God, I hope we don't have a surprise mission tomorrow. Okay I've got to go. It's my wedding night.

God, thank you for Hannah.
