Well it's all over now.

I figure I better write down what I remember or it'll be lost.

The Evos asked me to start fighting with them. So I did. Still wasn't able to access my powers, but I was still a hell of a sniper. I fought with them, defended them, killed for them. What else could I have done? It was so wrong. These people, these amazing, empowered, special people, being corralled, forced from their homes, slaughtered. It all felt so wrong.

We needed to mount one more strong defense before we reached the city that would take the Evos safe to the stars. They called me to the front line.

They said they needed a sniper.

When I arrived, I understood why. There was a sniper on the other side using a special gun.

My old gun.

It didn't kill; it just stunned an Evo's connection to their powers for a time. It was making this last fight ugly.

Evos that held up strong barriers for defensive lines were being depowered and killed leaving Evo forces wide open to enemy fire. Whoever the sniper was was good. Real good. It had to be…

I got into position. Found my mark through my scope. It was. It was her. My Hannah. My red handed love, responsible for making this massacre happen.

Everything welled up in me. I don't quite understand it. My love for her, still raging. My hatred for her, unfaded. Her brutality, disgusting me. Her beauty, stunning me. My clean shot. Her scope finding me a second too late and seeing my tears. Ahh and there it was at last…balance. I didn't need it to kill her, but boy did I use it. I screamed against the world, against my fate, against God. My neon bullet rent fiery through the night sky and eviscerated my Rose's head…

We made it to New Babel and now the Evos are gone. All into space. Io, I think. They told me to come with them, but New Babel'l be just fine for me. I'm not an Evo. I'm not The Monarch. I don't think I'm even human. I'm just a fucking turncoat.
